I’m a Scottish architect based in Vancouver.

After graduating from the Royal College of Art in London in 2010, I’ve worked across the UK and North America on projects spanning architecture, interiors and design. Alongside practice, I’ve taught in several UK universities and developed an ongoing interest in the relationship between making, culture and the everyday rituals that shape the built environment.

Rather than searching for a signature style, I’m interested in the particular qualities of a place: its landscapes, histories, materials and inherited ways of making. My work often begins with these local conditions and develops through collaboration with craftspeople, fabricators and clients, looking for contemporary forms that feel grounded rather than imposed.

I enjoy working across scales; from houses and cultural projects to furniture and objects. These projects ask many of the same questions: how things are made, how they are used, and how they might quietly enrich daily life. Sometimes the answer is practical, sometimes playful, and occasionally there’s room for a little humour.

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to explore the work, and get in touch if you’d like to talk.
